Study shows Nepal government of Nepal, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and UK Department of international Development (DIFID) jointly launched the findings of the 2009 Maternal Mortality and Morbidity study. The current study is the follow up of the 1998 Maternal mortality and Morbidity study done to investigate factors associated with maternal and morbidity in Nepal, particularly the causes of maternal morbidity.

 | Dec 1, 2009 Kathmandu: Universal Access for Children affected by AIDS in Nepal (UCAAN) participated in the 22nd World AIDS Day program held today at Khula Mancha in Kathmandu. With assistance from NAP+N, UCAAN secretariat set up a stall at the event to promote the diverse partnership of UCAAN and advocate and sensitize the general mass regarding children affected by AIDS in Nepal (CABA).

 | With the sole aim of providing information on oral health, Kantipur Dental College Teaching hospital and Research Center is going to organize “2nd Oral Health Science Exibitition 2009” on Kantipur Dental College Teaching Hospital and Research centre, Basundhara, Dhapasi from 28th to 30th August. Exhibition also provides the information on preventative, curative and treatment service on oral health. Exhibition would have the involvement of different Dental College, Medical College, Social organizations, and National and International governmental and non-governmental organizations, and various medicine producer and distributer along with the exhibition of Dental and Medical distributer. |

 | Kathmandu, August 16: The government has started distributing the announced relief package to the families of diarrhoea and cholera victims of mid and far western districts from today. The programme will be effective up to September 16. |

| Kathmandu, August 10: Ministry of Health and Population today informed altogether 264 persons have so far died of diarrhoea across the country where Jajarkot district witnessed the highest number of deaths with 144 as victims of the epidemic. According to the Ministry, 46 died in Rukum while 16 in Dailekh, 13 in Achham, 9 in Surkhet, 4 in Rolpa, 3 in Dolpa and Salyan each and 2 in Pyuthan district. |
