The relief package includes free treatment and medicines, door campaign for the distribution of Jeevan Jal, public awareness in community level, waste disposal, 10 kilograms rice and one kilogram salt to each patients, water purification, and construction of toilet for 500 underprivileged families and installation of a DMA phone in each afflicted village. According to the Health and Population Ministry, each family will be entitled for the package through District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee. The distribution of financial relief package was underway as announced earlier. The government last month announced that it would provide 10,000 to the victim families that lost Rs. 5,000 more to the families’ lives that lost their breadwinner to the outbreak. The MoPH, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of local Development, Ministry of Information and Communication and Ministry of Women, Children and social Welfare have been working in close coordination for the purpose. “An estimated budget of Rs 196.3 million for the entire relief programme has already been allocated”, said the report of MoPH. The government has recommended a 22- member coordination committee led by the Minister for Health and Population Umakant Chaudhary for the implementation of the programme. |
