Dec 1, 2009 Kathmandu: Universal Access for Children affected by AIDS in Nepal (UCAAN) participated in the 22nd World AIDS Day program held today at Khula Mancha in Kathmandu. With assistance from NAP+N, UCAAN secretariat set up a stall at the event to promote the diverse partnership of UCAAN and advocate and sensitize the general mass regarding children affected by AIDS in Nepal (CABA).

The government has started distributing the announced relief package to the families of diarrhoea and cholera victims of mid and far western districts from today. The programme will be effective up to September 16.The relief package includes free treatment and medicines, door campaign for the distribution of Jeevan Jal, public awareness in community level, waste disposal, 10 kilograms rice and one kilogram salt to each patients,

Government : 264 died of diarrhoea PDF Print E-mail

Ministry of Health and Population today informed altogether 264 persons have so far died of diarrhoea across the country where Jajarkot district witnessed the highest number of deaths with 144 as victims of the epidemic. According to the Ministry, 46 died in Rukum while 16 in Dailekh, 13 in Achham, 9 in Surkhet, 4 in Rolpa, 3 in Dolpa and Salyan each and 2 in Pyuthan district.
